Established in 2016, originally as the Paisley Spartans, the Renfrewshire Raptors are one of a number of flourishing flag American football clubs in the ever-growing BAFA HNC Division One.
It hasn’t always been plain sailing for the fledgling club but after a tough debut to the season, things improved remarkably over the last campaign as plans were put in place both on and off the park that should stand the club in good stead for years to come. However, it was all geared towards 2019…
A busy end to the year saw the once-Spartans become the newly branded Raptors – with new kits and players to boot. The hard-work behind the scenes, much of which had been in the pipeline for months, finally came to fruition. Sponsorship deals and partnerships with a host of local business really has brought the club back to the forefront of the community, where it should have always been, while a recruitment drive has proved more successful than even the most optimistic could have imagined. Now based at Paisley Rugby Club, the Raptors are ready to roar their way into the season.
A new name. A new kit. A new dawn, for Renfrewshire’s only dedicated American football side.
